The Story of Anabel
Silent Floor
In the summer of 1987, Edmonton businessman Richard Hargrove arrived at the historic Mira Hotel with his second wife Margaret and his teenage daughter Anabel, from his first marriage.
The relationship between Margaret and Anabel was cold and distant—cordial in public, but void of warmth. When Margaret’s prized emerald necklace vanished from Room 312, suspicion fell squarely on Anabel. Margaret accused her without hesitation. Richard said nothing.
Later that night, Anabel slipped out into the hallway. A night staff member saw her walking toward the stairs, head down, murmuring to herself,
“I’ll find it… I have to…”
She never returned.
Neither she nor the necklace was ever seen again. Room 312 was sealed, and the entire second floor quietly closed. Locals began calling it the Silent Floor.
To this day, visitors report strange cold spots, the sound of faint sobbing, and glimpses of a pale girl in a white gown. Some believe Anabel still wanders the floor, trying to finish what she started.
